I’m looking for a Senior Accountant to step into a newly created role, offering you the opportunity to contribute to both day-to-day accounting and strategic financial analysis. Reporting directly to the Controller and collaborating with a dynamic team of 8, this role offers a perfect balance of operational and strategic responsibilities, and opportunities to grow within!

Please note: this position requires you to be in Ontario and in the local area, as this is an on-site position.

Responsibilities:

• Manage journal entries and month-end/year-end procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare detailed financial reports, including weekly Service Division Manager updates and safety training metrics.
• Assist with updating and tracking annual and quarterly budgets and forecasts.
• Oversee tax filings and government remittances, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
• Complete monthly account and bank reconciliations, ensuring financial accuracy.
• Monitor expenses and overheads, providing insights into cost management and variances.
• Work with the Regional Controller on fleet management and AR.
• Review hourly payroll processed by the Payroll Administrator and manage salary payroll for the region.
• Process EFTs and manage banking files to ensure smooth operations.
• Assist with financial or operational requests and ad hoc financial analysis.
• Mentor administrative staff, fostering a collaborative work environment.

Qualifications:

• CPA is a MUST
• Progressive candidate with 5 years of experience
• Construction experience an asset
