Our client in Kitchener is poised for growth and has an immediate opportunity for a Controller to join their team! Reporting to the CFO, the Controller will be responsible for financial management, reporting and analysis as well as budgeting and forecasting. This position is ideal for candidates with a background in construction and project management. Our client is seeking an effective leader who will supervise and mentor a small team as the organization continues to grow. Hybrid work arrangement with a dynamic team!

 Responsibilities:
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for multiple entities
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision making
  • Participate in the annual budget planning process
  • Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly HST filings
  • Monitor cash flow, preparing forecasts and projections
  • Provide effective leadership to the accounting team, fostering a collaborative work environment
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, CPA designation is required
  • 5+ years of progressive experience preferably in the construction, real estate or property management industry
  • Strong system skills are required, experience with Business Central within a MS Dynamics 365 environment is preferred
  • Candidates must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work well in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Well developed analytical and problem-solving skills are key for success in this position
