Job Description

Our client, a global leader in the industrial manufacturing industry, has an immediate opportunity for an Account Manager to join their team! Reporting to the Head of Sales, this role manages assigned accounts and territories throughout Ontario and Quebec, identifying and developing opportunities for product, spare parts, and service sales to clients in the Marine, Shipping and Power Plant industries. A Bachelor's Degree in Marine or Mechanical Engineering is required as the Account Manager will support customers through the sales lifecycle, providing technical input and suggestions. Strong relationship-building skills as well as proven sales success in their target market are key to this role. This position is remote, with frequent travel required, candidates must be willing and able to travel ~50% up to 5 business days at a time.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with strategic customers
  • Proactively engage with new and existing client base in  through consultative selling approach with customers in Marine, Shipping, and Power Plant industries across the assigned territories
  • Lead consultative sales engagements
  • Ensure customers have a thorough understanding of the products and services through targeted and effective training and presentations
  • Prepare, lead and finalize commercial negotiations and contracts with customers
  • Continually evaluate the market and assess competitive positioning based on industry knowledge
  • Network with supplier/factory connections to foster valuable relationships
  • Represent the company in trade shows, conferences and select industry events
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marine/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent scientific discipline is required 
  • Minimum of five years experience in marketing, sales or application engineering with complex engineer-to-order equipment
  • The ideal candidate for this has demonstrated cold-calling abilities with a persuasive, customer-focused sales approach and proven ability to build prospects and business relationships
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, legal contracts and safety procedures
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are required for success in this position
  • Candidates must possess strong planning and organization skills in order to make effective use of time and resources
  • Strong business acumen is required in order to solve complex issues and problems, using experience to identify innovative solutions
  • This position is a work from home role, with frequent travel within Ontario and Quebec. Occasional international travel may be required for training or internal meetings. Candidates must be willing and able to travel ~50% up to 5 business days at a time
