Responsibilities:
- Oversee Corporate Financial Reporting, including regulatory, reinsurance, and financial reporting for Property & Casualty.
- Manage external reporting functions, including consolidated financial statements, MDNA, and press releases.
- Provide expertise in technical accounting, preparing memos and addressing new accounting standards.
- Manage the accounting for a winding-up entity and sustainability reporting.
- Lead a team of seven direct reports and approximately 40-50 staff members.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for external auditors, managing audit challenges and accounting treatments.
- Collaborate closely with senior leadership within the finance department.
Qualifications:
- CPA designation is required
- Demonstrated experience in the insurance industry, with a deep understanding of IFRS 17 changes.
- Strong technical accounting expertise, ideally with experience from public accounting.
- Strong leadership experience, capable of managing a large team and prioritizing multiple tasks effectively.
- A level-headed personality with strong influencing and collaborative skills.
