Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary contact for plant operations, addressing finance-related questions.
- Ability to handle the accounting functions while also serving as a business partner to the plants, understanding the "why" behind the numbers, analyzing them, and supporting operations in making informed decisions.
- Manage the financial close process and conduct in-depth analysis of financial reporting.
- Provide financial insights and support to production teams.
- Oversee financial reporting and analysis for one or two manufacturing plants initially, with potential for more.
- Analyze financial numbers to articulate the underlying story and business impact.
- Ensure understanding of how business decisions influence financial metrics.
- Work with large datasets and financial systems to support analytical needs.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in a financial analysis role, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong accounting knowledge is essential; a CPA designation is preferred but not required.
- Strong understanding of costing principles. Essential for understanding core business operations and the impact of business decisions on financial metrics.
- Proven ability to analyze complex financial data and explain its implications.
- Proficiency in financial software such as JDE, Power BI, and CCH Target reporting.
- Advanced Excel skills for large data manipulation.
- A dynamic personality and strong teamwork skills are crucial for collaborating effectively with various stakeholders, including plant operations, production, and manufacturing directors.
- Ability to travel quarterly to visit plants in Canada or the U.S.
