Job Description
Our client, an established and growing distribution company in Oakville, has an immediate opportunity for an Accounting Clerk to join their team! This position is responsible for the day-to-day processing of AP and AR including processing invoices, payments, and receivables. This position is ideal for candidates with strong attention to detail, who thrive in a fast-paced, high volume setting. This is an in-office position, working as part of a collaborative team.

Responsibilities:
- Accurately review and process vendor invoices
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Respond to vendor A/P inquiries in a professional and timely manner
- Apply incoming payments (cheques, ACH, credit cards) to appropriate accounts
- Prepare weekly aging A/R reports
- Follow up on overdue accounts
- Reconcile A/R accounts and resolve billing issues
- Regularly access and review retail customer portals for posted deduction notices, invoices, and related documents
- Ensure all deductions are accurately captured and recorded in the internal accounting system in a timely manner
- Communicate effectively with vendors, customers, and internal departments
- Provide additional accounting support as needed
- Post-Secondary diploma or certificate in Accounting coupled with 1+ year of of accounting experience
- Candidates must possess a solid understanding of accounting principles and procedures
- Experience with QuickBooks is an asset, proficiency with MS Office suite is required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as strong attention to detail are critical to success in this position
- Candidates must have proven ability to handle multiple priorities effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced work environment
- This is an in-office position
