Our client, a well-established organization, is seeking an experienced and motivated Accounting Manager to join their growing finance team in Waterloo! As they continue to expand, they’re looking for a hands-on leader who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about driving financial excellence in a purpose-driven organization.

The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Accounting Manager will oversee a small but dynamic team. This role will play a key part in leading the month-end close process, preparing financial statements, managing audits, and supporting budgeting and forecasting activities. It’s an ideal opportunity for a CPA who is ready to step into a leadership role within a growing organization that values people, community, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting
• Prepare and analyze consolidated financial statements for multiple entities
• Lead the annual audit process and act as the main point of contact for external auditors
• Support the development of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts, providing insight into financial performance
• Manage and mentor a small team, providing guidance, training, and ongoing development
• Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and other financial documentation
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, and reporting efficiencies

About You:

• CPA designation required
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally with prior leadership exposure
• Experience in public accounting (Manager or strong Senior from a firm) is highly valued
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, consolidations, and audit processes

Compensation & Benefits:

• Salary range: $90,000–$120,000, commensurate with experience
