Job Description
Our client, a leading organization in the food manufacturing industry, is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join their small, collaborative finance team. Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the accounts receivable process, including bank reconciliations, ensuring timely and accurate recording of payments.
- Reconcile customer accounts, research, and resolve discrepancies in coordination with Customer Service and Sales.
- Prepare and process daily deposits, monitor outstanding balances, and execute effective collection strategies.
- Process and track all deductions and expense entries within the ERP system.
- Ensure AR analysis, reporting, and execution remain current, accurate, and compliant with company policies.
- Provide backup and assistance with accounts payable processing, including coding of invoices, entering vouchers, and preparing cheques/EFT/ACH payments for our diverse group of companies.
- Administer and manage the organization's commercial card program (RBC Visa, Master Card), maintaining accurate cardholder information, monitoring usage, and ensuring compliance with internal policies.
- Perform weekly bank reconciliations between ERP and actual bank records.
- Process HST reconciliations and payments for all group of companies.
- Manage corporate tax payment schedule and submit payment to CRA and other statutory obligations.
Qualifications:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in an accounting role, with a strong emphasis on accounts receivable
- Exceptional English proficiency
- Previous experience in food processing or retail is a preference but not mandatory.
- Resourceful and capable of working independently
- Tech-savvy with the ability to quickly learn new software; Dynamics experience is a plus.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada.
