Job Description


Our not-for-profit client in the Brantford Region, is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team. This is an immediate hiring for a contract opportunity ( minimum 3 months with a high possibility of turning permanent).  If you are adaptable, thrive in an inclusive environment, and are ready to contribute to an organisation making a difference in the community, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

This role offers a unique chance to be part of an accounting team transitioning from third-party management to in-house operations. You will play a crucial role in establishing new procedures and workflows, with the potential for this contract position (3.5 to 6 months) to convert into a permanent role.

Responsibilities:

  • Process invoices including entering, matching, and digital filing.

  • Make payments through banking systems.

  • Assist with payroll and update Excel files.

  • Reconcile credit card purchases

  • Assist with GST returns.

  • Collaborate closely with program coordinators and other staff, providing support with accounts payable requirements and documentation.

  • Actively participate in the transition of financial management in-house.

Qualifications:

  • At least one to three years of experience in an Accounts Payable position.

  • Proficiency with Sage 50 P

  • Comfortable with Excel, including updating spreadsheets (pivot table experience not strictly required).

  • Adaptable and a team player
