Job Description
Our client in the agriculture industry, located just north of Elmira, is seeking an Assistant Controller to join their growing team! This is a newly created position with growth opportunities coming up. This position will be responsible for budgeting and forecasting, preparing monthly financial statements, supporting daily operations, and liaising with external accountants during year-end procedures. We are ideally looking for someone who can grow into the Controller role in the next 12-18 months.

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for full AR and Payroll cycle.
- Create financial statements
- Assist in developing and implementing internal controls
- Oversee the preparation of annual working papers
- Own Budgeting and forecasting process
- Handle income tax filings and T-slips for all projects
- Collaborate closely with management on strategic planning and contribute to company and team growth
- Support with ad-hoc projects as needed
Requirements:
- Candidates with 3+ years of experience in either public accounting or relevant industry
- CPA designation is a MUST.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities
- High attention to detail
