Job Description

Our client, a well-established and highly respected organization, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join their dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled accounting professional who thrives in a hands-on environment and takes pride in ownership of their work.

In this role, you will play a key part in managing the full-cycle accounts payable process, supporting month-end and year-end close procedures, and performing a variety of transactional accounting tasks. Additionally, you will assist with payroll processing and commission-related responsibilities, contributing to the overall accuracy and efficiency of the financial operations.

Responsibilities:
  • Monitor organizational cash flow and contribute to forward-looking financial planning and analysis
  • Develop internal financial summaries and assist with the creation of regular performance reports
  • Support the monthly close cycle by preparing adjusting entries and maintaining the general ledger
  • Conduct account reconciliations to ensure alignment between bank activity and financial records
  • Log daily financial transactions, including deposits and transfers, and investigate any inconsistencies
  • Oversee accounts payable operations, ensuring invoices are processed and paid in accordance with terms
  • Administer commission calculations and coordinate disbursements for staff and partners
  • Uphold internal controls by validating financial data accuracy and ensuring policy compliance
  • Serve as a liaison during financial audits, assisting with data gathering and audit requests
  • Maintain time-tracking systems and ensure workforce records are accurate and up to date
  • Assist with employee onboarding processes, including payroll tax documentation and compliance forms
  • Offer administrative support for department-wide initiatives and ad hoc financial tasks

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of full-cycle accounting experience
  • Post-secondary degree in Accounting or related program
  • Experience within a financial services environment an asset
