Job Description

Our client is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Payroll and Benefits Specialist for a 14-month contract. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced payroll environment and enjoys contributing to a collaborative, fun, and supportive team culture. You will play a key role in managing Canadian and US payroll operations and overseeing benefits administration, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and seamless processes across multiple jurisdictions.

This is an opportunity to apply your expertise in multi-province and multi-country payroll, support key transitions, and maintain high-quality financial operations.

Responsibilities:
•     Manage Canadian payroll for up to 500 employees using Payworks
•     Manage US payroll for a small employee group using Ceridian
•     Oversee benefits administration, Canadian pension plans, and the US 401(k), including invoice reconciliation and remittances
•     Conduct payroll audits to ensure accuracy and compliance
•     Partner closely with internal HR and the managed service provider (Payworks) for Canadian payroll
•     Learn and execute complex payroll processes with efficiency, particularly those involving multi-province and multi-country requirements
•     Train and collaborate with the HR and Payroll Coordinator ahead of their maternity leave

Qualifications:
•     Five or more years of experience managing complex payroll systems in both Canada and the US, including benefits administration
•     PCP preferred
•     Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
•     Excellent communication skills and a personable, professional approach
•     Proficiency in BambooHR, Payworks, and Ceridian
