Job Description
Our distribution client based out of Burlington has an immediate opportunity for a Controller- to join their team on a contract basis with a high possibility to turn permanent. Reporting to the US based VP of Finance, the Controller will be responsible for entire accounting cycle for their Canadian subsidiary handling financial management, reporting and analysis as well as budgeting and forecasting. This is an in-office role, working collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment along with US finance team.

 Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for the Canadian subsidiary company
- Preparing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision making
- Develop and maintain annual budgets
- Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations
- Prepare monthly and quarterly HST filings
- Monitor cash flow, preparing forecasts and projections
- Develop internal controls to safeguard company’s assets.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA designation is highly preferred
- 5+ years of relevant accounting experience including management/ supervisory experience within a small company.
- Ideally have previous experience reporting into a US parent company and handling full accounting cycle for its Canadian subsidiary.
- Great Plains experience is considered as an asset.
