Our Burlington client is poised for continued growth and has an immediate opportunity for a Controller to join their team! Reporting to the VP of Finance, the Controller will be responsible for financial management, reporting and analysis as well as budgeting and forecasting for the Property Management division of an established development company. This position requires an effective leader who will supervise and mentor a small team. This is an in-office role, working collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for multiple properties
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision making
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization overall
- Develop and maintain annual budgets for the property management division
- Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations
- Prepare monthly and quarterly HST filings
- Monitor cash flow, preparing forecasts and projections
- Provide effective leadership to the property management accounting team, fostering a collaborative work environment
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Property Management industry experience is required for this position
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA designation is preferred
- 10+ years of experience including a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role
- Candidates must have strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work well in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are key for success in this position
- Proficiency in MS Excel and financial software systems is required
- This is an in-office position working as part of a collaborative team
