Job Description

Our client, a growing and innovative intelligent building technology company, is seeking a seasoned and hands-on Controller / Head of Finance – PART TIME (Contract – approximately 18 months with a strong possibility of extension). This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance leader who enjoys working in entrepreneurial environments and wants to make a meaningful impact on a growing business while maintaining a flexible schedule.
This role offers the opportunity to provide strategic financial leadership, oversee high-level accounting functions, evaluate and enhance financial systems, and support the organization's next phase of growth. Reporting directly to ownership, you will play a key role in strengthening financial processes, improving reporting capabilities, and ensuring the company is well-positioned for future expansion.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the company's accounting and finance function, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes
  • Review and oversee financial statements, reporting packages, and key performance metrics
  • Provide strategic financial guidance to ownership and leadership
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial planning activities
  • Evaluate existing financial systems and recommend enhancements or upgrades
  • Lead potential accounting system/ERP assessment and implementation initiatives
  • Establish and strengthen financial controls, policies, and reporting processes
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the accounting team, including a full-time Bookkeeper responsible for day-to-day accounting operations
Qualifications:
  • CPA designation highly preferred
  • Proven experience in a Controller, Head of Finance, Director of Finance, or similar senior finance leadership role
  • Comfortable with the Part time Contract nature of the role.
  • Experience evaluating, upgrading, or implementing accounting and ERP systems
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
