Our private equity firm client is looking to hire a Director, Portfolio Finance Operations. This role offers an exciting opportunity for an operationally focused finance professional passionate about Private Equity. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in driving operational excellence across a diverse portfolio of companies, contributing significantly to the acquisition, management, improvement, and sale of businesses.
Reporting to the Managing Director and CFO, the selected candidate will collaborate with financial leaders across seven operating platforms to enhance operational and financial performance. Responsibilities include hiring financial leads, enforcing reporting standards, and enhancing finance leaders' capacity to support the operation of their respective businesses. Additionally, this individual will enhance overall portfolio value by optimizing organizational efficiencies through a unified approach to the individual operating companies.

Responsibilities:
- Ensure proper accounting standards, controls and processes are implemented and executed at each portfolio reporting entity;
- Identify and prioritize operational efficiencies and EBITDA improvement opportunities;
- Implement EBITDA improvements on a systematic and sustained basis;
- Assist portfolio company controllers in implementing Key Performance Indicators, tracking mechanisms, annual budgets and business plans;
- Assist portfolio company controllers in preparing, reviewing and presenting accurate and timely monthly financial statements and management reports/presentations;
- Participate in all monthly portfolio company management calls/meetings;
- Recruit and actively contribute to the development of controllers and bookkeepers at each portfolio company to create an independent and self sustaining finance function at each company;
- Assisting portfolio companies with the management of third party advisors including tax, accounting, insurance, benefits,
- Review of various estimates of fair value of investment in the portfolio companies;
- Working with the Financial Reporting group to ensure that reporting deadlines are met;
- Acting as liaison between the Portfolio Companies and the Financial Reporting group;
- Maintaining responsibility for any year-end adjustments and entries required to close off ledgers;
- Preparing portfolio companies for sale, as and when determined
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- CPA professional with 3+ years experience working with operations to improve financial performance OR as a Manager or Senior Manager from transactional services group of an accounting firm
- Strong project management skills along with the ability to communicate effectively and work across functional teams
- Strong leadership skills and qualities
