This pivotal role will oversee full-cycle accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulatory standards, and meticulous management of intercompany transactions and reconciliations across various entities.
The successful candidate will be a strategic leader, responsible for driving financial accuracy, implementing robust internal controls, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the accounting department. The successful candidate will be a strategic leader, responsible for driving financial accuracy, implementing robust internal controls, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the accounting department. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all full-cycle accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and month-end/year-end close processes.
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures and continuous training.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and consolidated reporting for the corporate group.
- Maintain and reconcile intercompany balances across multiple entities, developing and enforcing processes for intercompany transactions and eliminations.
- Oversee weekly cash flow management and bi-weekly vendor payment runs.
- Implement and monitor strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and identify opportunities for process automation and efficiency improvements.
- Assist in annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes, providing insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and all applicable regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate and facilitate external audits, acting as the primary liaison with auditors.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with 3+ years as a Controller or Director of Finance
- CPA designation is required
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standard
- System implementation experience an asset
