Responsibilities:


  • Manage day-to-day operations of the Finance and Regulatory department, ensuring accurate financial processing, reporting, and compliance with deadlines.

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes, including monthly variance analysis and consolidation of business unit budgets.

  • Oversee all accounting functions within the ERP system, including general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, journal entries, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, cash receipts, accruals, and inventory.

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and filings (OEB, IESO, Ministry of Energy), serving as the internal expert on regulatory codes and translating requirements into internal actions.

  • Collaborate with internal departments and the CFO on strategic financial planning, performance monitoring (KPIs, scorecards), and preparation of board reports.

  • Act as liaison with external auditors and tax advisors to support efficient audit and tax processes.

  • Provide leadership and direction to the finance team through coaching, development, and performance management.




Requirements:

  • CPA is required
  • Must have IFRS knowledge
  • 2+ years of experience managing a small team, in industry or at an accounting firm
  • Strong problem solver
