Job Description

Exciting opportunity for a Controller to join an established and growing manufacturing company in the Hamilton area! Reporting to the President, the Controller will lead a small team and manage the overall financial operations of the Company by providing timely and accurate information including financial reports, budgeting, forecasting and analysis. This is an in-office position, working collaboratively as a key member of the leadership group!

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly reporting and analysis
  • Analyze production costs and efficiencies, recommending changes as necessary
  • Lead the preparation and analysis of the annual budget, capital budgeting and annual/monthly forecast
  • Leverage technology and other tools to build simple and effective reporting to support business decisions
  • Maintain and develop financial systems, processes and procedures
  • Create and review analysis and reports of financial and operating data
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Corporate Governance and Compliance including GST/HST, corporate taxes etc.
  • Act as primary liaison for external auditors, providing accurate and timely financial information
  • Provide coaching and direction to a small team
  • Additional duties as required

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance/Accounting and CPA designation is required
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Proven experience effectively leading a small team
  • Strong system skills are essential for success in this position; hands-on experience with QuickBooks is an asset
  • This position requires exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work well in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • This is an IN-OFFICE position, working collaboratively as a key member of the management team
