Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the development and implementation of Health and Safety practices across the organization
- Collaborate on the continuous assessment and improvement of practices
- Support incident investigation, resolution and management
- Conduct site inspections and risk assessments
- Manage document control and certification updates for compliance
- Manage both the internal and external audit process and metric reporting system
- Participate in creation and implementation of corrective actions
- Assess potential hazards on new jobs
- Assist with onboarding and safety training of new employees
- Visit company sites as needed (20-30% travel)
- Minimum of 8-10 years in a Health and Safety role
- Post secondary education in Health and Safety
- Hands on experience working with Federal and International laws
- On site experience required in mining, heavy equipment, oil & gas or marine industry
- Auditing experience in a Federal environment required
- CPR certified trainer experience
- Experience in the marine industry considered an asset
