Job Description

Exciting opportunity for a Human Resources Generalist to join one of our manufacturing clients in Burlington for a 14-month contract! Reporting to the HR Manager, this position provides day-to-day HR support for a unionized manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for administering Human Resources policies, ensuring compliance with labor agreements, supporting employee relations, and partnering with management to maintain a productive and positive work environment. This is an in-office position, working as part of a collaborative team.

Responsibilities include:
  • Serve as the first point of contact for ~300 employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and labor agreement interpretation
  • Ensure adherence to employment laws, company policies, and CBA provisions
  • Assist in grievance handling, investigations, and disciplinary processes in accordance with the CBA
  • Coordinate recruitment efforts for hourly and salaried positions
  • Facilitate onboarding and orientation for new hires
  • Ensure adherence to employment laws, company policies, and CBA provisions
  • Maintain accurate employee records and documentation 
  • Support health and safety programs and compliance initiatives
  • Administer benefits administration forms, leaves of absence STD, LTD, and attendance programs
  • Assist with payroll-related inquiries and ensure accurate timekeeping.
  • Prepare HR reports and metrics for management review
  • Organize company events
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of HR experience, preferably in a unionized manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws and collective bargaining agreements is required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are key for success in this role
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Candidates must be proficient with HRIS systems and MS Office
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment are required
  • This is an in-office position
