Our client is a stable and growing division of a large publicly traded company, who is seeking a Junior Accountant to join their team in the Burlington office. This a great opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who likes to work with complex transactions and looking to grow within a company. This individual will focus on interesting and complex AR, Billings and AP work that will require them to take ownership, solve problems and collaborate across the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the transactional accounting of the business: the validation of new orders, accurately receiving product into inventory and accurate revenue recognition from both products shipped and field installation revenue.
  • Thoroughly understanding the order entry process. Validating order MI
  • Reconciling billing, creating invoices and billing clients on a timely basis.
  • Complete management of accounts payable, coding, filing, and ensuring vendors get paid in a timely manner.
  • Facilitating collections of aged receivables - Reconciling AR and AP.
  • Learning and understanding construction work in progress
  • Ensure supplier invoices are booked accurately and suppliers are paid in a timely manner.
  • Assist the controller and intermediate accountant on month end close.
  • Maintain an orderly filing system
  • Year end inventory count.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • An experienced individual who enjoys doing the work OR a new grad with co-op experience
  • An excellent communicator – someone who can dig into things and not afraid to ask questions
  • Knowledge of internal audit requirements to ensure company is audit compliant
  • Advanced excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, logic statements)
  • Detail oriented – ability to identify minor errors
  • Transactional accounting knowledge
