Our Private Equity client in Burlington has an exciting opportunity for a Junior Accountant to join their team in office. They are seeking a recent grad who is working towards their CPA designation. This is a newly created role due to growth of the business that provides room for future growth. This individual will be part of a team of 5 and reports into the Assistant Manager, Financial Reporting.

Please note: this position requires you to be in Ontario and in the local area, as this is an on-site position.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing Fund financial statements using IFRS and ASPE
• Prepare and maintain various schedules and ensure completeness and accuracy of data
• Prepare month-end and year-end adjustments and entries required to close off general ledgers
• Work with and assist external auditors
• Help implement and maintain financial reporting systems and processes to streamline operations and enhance efficiency
• Stay up-to-date on accounting standard updates and create and assist memo’s as needed.
• Work with Operational Finance Managers to provide technical accounting guidelines to ensure proper treatment of complex accounting issues
• Other ad-hoc projects and initiatives

Qualifications:

• Recent grad who is working towards their CPA
• Degree in Accounting or Business
• General knowledge of IFRS and ASPE
• Previous internships, co-op or accounting experience an asset
