Our client, a Canadian based production company, is looking to hire a Logistics Coordinator to join their Brampton location.  The qualified candidate will work closely under the guidance of the Logistics Manager to make sure fleet operations are running smoothly. This will include ensuring coordinating shipments with other locations and negotiating carrier use. This position will work in concert with Plant Supervisors and Production Scheduling, while overseeing drivers to ensure efficiency of all daily runs.

Responsibilities:

• Properly build loads that consider various factors to streamline shipping operations
• Ensure all company policies are followed and adhered to for safe work practices
• Making sure that company shipping quality standards and all established delivery commitments are met
• Partner with other locations to maintain maximum efficiency of shipments
• Generate purchase orders for all outside carrier charges
• Ensure optimum efficiency of all shipping operations in general in and out of the Brampton location
• Successfully manage drivers and loading crews to ensure efficiency and safety in the shipping process
• Use route planning software to coordinate and optimize delivery capacity



Requirements:

• Exceptional knowledge with building loads (ideally with shipping experience dealing with building materials)
• Prior Logistics Supervisory experience ideal
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Experience with an ERP system is an asset
• Strong hands-on leadership and coaching
