Our established client in Brantford has an immediate opportunity for a Payroll & HR Administrator to join their team! Reporting to the HR Manager, this position will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of bi-weekly payroll for the company and serves as the first point of contact for any payroll and benefit related matters. This position is ideal for candidates who thrive in a fast-paced, small company setting. This is a HYBRID position working 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurate and timely processing of bi-weekly payroll for 100 employees located in Canada and the US
  • Prepare bi-weekly monthly remittances
  • Administration of employee benefits in Canada and the US
  • Maintain all employee files, payroll/benefits documents and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations
  • Assist with recruitment, including job postings, compiling resumes, scheduling interviews, performing reference checks and processing background checks
  • Provide support with employee on-boarding/off-boarding processes
  • Create and prepare monthly reports and HR/Payroll metric reports
  • Independently follow up on correspondence requests and outstanding issues in a timely manner
  • Assist with the preparation of reports, presentations, and other documentation as required

Job Requirements

  • Candidates must possess a minimum 2 years’ hands-on experience processing payroll
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner Certification (PCP) preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required for success in this position
  • Candidates must be highly organized with strong attention to detail and the proven ability to maintain confidentiality, handling sensitive information with discretion
  • Strong knowledge of MS office is required
