Our Canadian owned and operated client in the manufacturing and service industry is looking to hire a Payroll Specialist. They have various locations across Canada and their head office in Mississauga. This person will have the flexibility to work a hybrid model with 2 days in office. This is a stand-alone position that will handle their full-cycle payroll and payroll related reporting. This person will also be responsible for implementing and improving any changes necessary to processes or systems.
Please note: this position requires you to be in Ontario and in the local area, as this is a hybrid position.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare and administer bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees, including reporting on all payroll related activity (FTE, OT, STD reports)
- Responsible for payroll calculations and filings including WSIB, EHT and benefits funding payments, employee expenses and other deductions including garnishments, taxes and group benefits
- Point of contact for CRA or equivalent inquiries/audits
- Complete statutory deductions and annual reports for CRA, EHT, and WSIB, including reconciliations and issuance of year-end T4's, T4As, and RL-1s
- Collaborate with the People & Culture team in payroll processing and supporting complex payroll issues
- Navigate Ceridian to quickly troubleshoot issues, perform special pay runs and other time-sensitive transactions
- Prepare payroll journal entries on a timely and accurate basis and reconcile payroll related GL accounts
- Assist Finance with budgeting and forecasting by providing requisite salary reports
- Process Year End Maintenance after the close of the year prior to Tax Form generation
- Manage and process legal invoices ensuring accurate timely recording and payment
- Oversight of insurance-related matters, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and accuracy in processing. Support annual insurance policy renewals by sourcing and providing accurate, complete and timely renewal information
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of payroll experience
- PCP preferred
- Multi-provincial and US experience an asset
- Ceridian Dayforce experience an asset
- Great comms and can work cross-functionally
