Job Description
We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Plant Controller to join our client's team located just outside Kitchener, and oversee all aspects of accounting and costing within their manufacturing facility. In this key role, you will be responsible for managing the entire accounting cycle, ensuring accurate cost tracking, and driving process improvements. You will work closely with the senior management team to ensure financial accuracy and transparency across all areas of the plant's operations. This is an on-site role.

Key Responsibilities:
- Full Cycle Accounting: Oversee the end-to-end accounting process for the plant, including the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Costing Management: Lead the development and analysis of job costing, ensuring accurate cost allocation and identifying cost-saving opportunities within production processes.
- Month-End Close: Manage the month-end closing process, ensuring timely and accurate reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare detailed reports on manufacturing costs, inventory valuation, and financial performance, providing clear insights to management.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and support a team of accounting professionals, ensuring they are aligned with best practices and department goals.
- Process Improvement: Continuously assess accounting processes and suggest improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy across the accounting cycle.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing setting
- Strong ability to work independently and efficiently
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills required
- High level of organization and detail orientation
- Strong communication skills
