Job Description
Our client, an established and growing company, has an immediate opportunity for an experienced Property Accountant to join their team! Reporting to the Controller, the Property Accountant will be responsible for day-to-day accounting functions for an assigned portfolio of properties. This is a hybrid position (4 days in office, 1 from home) working collaboratively as part of a team.

Responsibilities:
- Completing monthly, quarterly, and yearly reporting for assigned portfolio of properties
- Perform timely month-end close and ensure recording all pertinent transactions including setting up monthly accruals and properly document journal entries
- Perform AP functions including invoice entry and payment processing
- Provide monthly variance analysis for revenue and expenses
- Perform regular bank and trust deposit reconciliations
- Prepare intercompany reconciliations
- Compile and submit required HST remittances
- Recommend appropriate changes to improve systems and processes
- Additional responsibilities as required
- Property Management industry experience is required for this position
- Post-Secondary education in Accounting or Finance is required
- 3+ years of progressive experience
- Hands-on experience with property management software such as Yardi
- Candidates must have strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work well in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are key for success in this position
- Proficiency in MS Excel and financial software systems is required
