Job Description


Our client, a growing tech company, is looking for a practical, process-minded Senior Accountant who enjoys rolling up their sleeves to close the books, support reporting, and strengthen accounting processes in a developing company! You’ll own day-to-day technical accounting, drive month-end activities, handle inventory & cost accounting, assist with external audits, and partner with operations to turn transactional data into actionable financial information. They offer a hybrid work model of 3 days in office.
Key responsibilities 
  • Take primary ownership of complex general ledger areas — including payroll postings, deferred/advance revenue, inventory valuation and cost of goods sold — ensuring accounts are accurate and supported.
  • Take control of the inventory & cost accounting responsibilities

  • Lead the monthly close: prepare and post journal entries, complete balance sheet reconciliations, investigate variances and deliver clear month-end summaries to management.

  • Produce management and statutory reporting inputs (monthly management packs, quarterly review schedules, year-end working papers) and help maintain reporting templates and schedules.

  • Coordinate requests from external auditors and provide organized schedules, documentation and explanations to support an efficient audit cycle.

  • Analyze and improve accounting workflows and controls; document procedures, reduce manual effort, and help implement changes in systems and processes as business needs evolve.

  • Maintain fixed asset records, capitalization documentation and perform periodic inventory and intercompany reconciliations as required.

  • Work closely with cross-functional partners (Operations, Sales, HR) to ensure accounting treatment aligns with commercial activities and to provide timely financial insights.

  • Support ad-hoc financial projects such as process automation initiatives, system upgrades, and special analyses (e.g., margin analysis, cost drivers).
Qualifications

  • CPA designation or active progress toward CPA required

  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience 

  • .Prior experience with costing and/or inventory is required

  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, formula auditing) and comfort learning new ERP/financial systems — prior NetSuite experience is an asset.
