Our client is a well-established, growing organization and North America's top distributor of shipping, industrial, and packaging materials, backed by over 45 years of success. They are looking for a Senior Accountant to take ownership of month-end and year-end close, balance sheet controls, and payroll oversight for their Canada operations, while also supporting corporate tax filings and driving continuous process improvement.
If you're a CPA with corporate accounting depth who's ready to lead close activities, own controls, and influence process rather than just execute within one, this is a strong step-up opportunity with a stable, well-resourced employer.

- Own balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls, investigating discrepancies and ensuring reporting accuracy
- Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for annual corporate tax filings
- Oversee the payroll process for Canada operations, ensuring accurate processing, thorough audits, and compliance
- Identify process improvements and strengthen accounting workflows and internal controls
- Partner with teams across the organization on financial analysis, reporting, and business insights that support informed decisions
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- CPA designation
- 7+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate setting
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP and internal controls
- Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with HRIS systems like Workday is a plus
- Excellent communicator with the ability to collaborate and influence across teams
