Our client located in Waterloo is looking for a Senior Accountant to join their team.  Reporting to the Director of Finance this role focuses on maintaining the asset module for deferred revenue and month end close responsibilities.  If you have 2+ years of accounting experience and are pursuing your CPA then this role could be for you!

Responsibilities:

• Maintain both asset module and excel spreadsheets for multiple deferred revenue elements including both point in time and over time aspects.
• Maintain asset module for fixed assets and various intangible assets, including accounting for patents.
• Month end responsibilities for working papers for the above accounts plus inventory, warranty and lease accounting.
• Supporting various Statistics Canada reporting throughout the year
• Supporting income tax compliance filings
• Monitoring internal controls and adherence to Corporate accounting policies

Requirements:

• 2+ years of Accounting experience
• CPA or in progress
• Experience with US GAAP or IFRS preferred
• Strong technical skills
