Job Description
Our client is a growing professional services firm that provides accounting and bookkeeping support to small and medium-sized businesses across a variety of industries. Due to growth, they are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accounting Specialist to join their team! This remote role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys working independently, managing a variety of client files, and contributing to the overall financial success of businesses through accurate recordkeeping, payroll processing, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
- Record and maintain financial transactions accurately and efficiently
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable activities
- Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
- Maintain general ledgers and supporting schedules
- Process payroll and related remittances
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements and year-end working papers
- Communicate professionally with clients regarding bookkeeping and accounting matters
- Collaborate closely with leadership to ensure deadlines and service standards are met
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of accounting experience, including full-cycle bookkeeping
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting is required
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online (QBO) is required
- Strong understanding of Ontario payroll regulations, remittances and employment standards requirements
- Experience with other software preferable but not a requirement (Square, Gusto, Wagepoint, ADP).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are key for success in this position
- Candidates must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a remote environment
- Due to payroll, employment, and operational requirements, applicants must currently reside in Ontario
