Our client, a growing organization is seeking a dynamic and highly motivated HR Manager/Director to join their team. This role offers the chance to be a true pioneer, establishing robust HR policies and procedures and laying the foundation for a new HR department. You will be instrumental in navigating significant growth and change, including the implementation of new HR technologies.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead recruitment efforts, particularly for seasonal temporary factory labor.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive HR policies, procedures, and playbooks, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, especially regarding health and safety (e.g., WSIB cases, workplace injuries).
  • Act as a trusted advisor to internal management; providing expert guidance on HR issues and knowing when to escalate to legal counsel.
  • Serve as a backup for payroll processing
  • Contribute to leadership development initiatives, with the long-term vision of leading and unifying HR operations.

Qualifications:
  • Proven expertise in recruitment, especially in managing seasonal staffing needs and optimizing temporary labor costs.
  • Strong background in HR compliance, policy development, and procedure implementation.
  • Demonstrated advisory skills, with the ability to guide internal leadership through complex HR matters.
  • High energy, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative approach.
  • Proficiency or experience with ADP Workforce Now is highly beneficial.
  • CHRP or CHRL designation preferred but not strictly necessary; strong practical experience and knowledge are highly valued.
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Exposure to US employment law and practices is a plus.
